Could be tonsillitis…are the brown spots little chunks (like 1/2 of brown rice) then a throat infection. Does your throat hurt?

Anyway, you can gargle with a 1:3 solution of Hydrogen Peroxide or get Colloidal Silver spray or liquid and gargle that.

The other is Wild Oil of Oregano (Oreganol 73) a couple drops under the tongue for a minute or so, the sip a little water and swish and gargle with that and swallow.

Last but not least, if you have a sore throat, there’s probably stagnant water in you ears (from showering or swimming) which will cause the small brown things.

For this get from the local Pharmacy Over-the-counter swimmers ear drops OR right in your home if you have the Hydrogen Peroxide (one part ) Water (distilled or pure) (three parts)…a few drops in one side (hold your head to one side finger over the ear opening and swish the solution in your ear) the do the other side. Then turn and drain the ear and get excess out with Qtip. Same with the swimmers ear drops.

You might also want to have Quercetin 500mg on hand as a immune booster.

Of course see a doctor if after a few days they are still there or you have a high fever.

PROBIOTIC THERAPY FOR IBD, IBS and Crohn’s

People with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), like Crohn’s, Ulcerative

Colitis and Diverticulitis are very sensitive to many foods, herbs and

therapeutic protocols that work well for people with normal digestive

systems. Many substances like MSM, standard aloe vera and vitamin C

(ascorbic acid form) that are healing for most people can actually

aggravate the digestive systems of people with IBD. When you get into

the arena of probiotics, whose action is almost exclusively in the gut,

reactions are quite pronounced.

When trying to work out why and how probiotics work, the field of

misinformation is vast. I consulted well-known naturopathic physicians,

professors of microbiology, gastroenterologists, and read extensively,

but received conflicting information at every turn. I experimented with

different brands of probiotics off and on for seven years and each time

I tried supplementing, my symptoms (gas, bloating, bleeding) worsened.

Although the science behind probiotics and why they should benefit me

seemed sound, my experience proved contrary. Finally, when I was nearly

ready to give up, a naturopathic physician convinced me to try Natren

probiotics. He insisted they were the best brand and I would see good

results from them. I started with Natren’s Bifido Factor powder and for

the first time, experienced an improvement as a result.

Thus, when I first began recommending Natren probiotics to my readers, I

did so for one reason only; they worked. At that time I knew very little

about the different strains of probiotics. For example, I had no idea

that Lactobacillus Bulgaricus DDS-14 (DDS-14 is the strain) is a potent

strain capable of antibiotic action against numerous harmful bacteria

including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, whilst Lactobacillus

Bulgaricus DDS-13 is a weak, ineffectual strain with none of the above

capabilities. As you know, most probiotic manufacturers do not even list

the strain on the bottle so you have no idea as to the effectiveness of

the bacteria you’re consuming. I was also not aware of how the different

probiotic manufacturing and extraction processes greatly affect the

potency, safety, and bioavailability (how much of the substance ingested

the body can actually utilise) of the finished product. Basically, I

knew very little about the technical and scientific reasons why Natren’s

products were so superior. All I knew, from extensive trial and error,

was that Natren’s probiotics worked and other brands of probiotics were

likely to have either no effect, or produce a worsening of symptoms.

A gastroenterologist I know in Toronto has seen some patients with

Colitis achieve remission with acidophilus and others whose Colitis

flared because of it. Unfortunately, she didn’t track which brand or

strain of acidophilus her patients were taking. Dr. Michael McCann, an

MD in Cleveland, Ohio, has found that once his IBD patients have

achieved remission, every one of them who’s continued to take Natren

probiotics, has remained in remission to date. Whether they’ll still be

in remission in 15-20 years remains to be seen, but the evidence is

certainly encouraging. One of my readers was passing a ¼ cup of mucous

with every bowel movement and after only 12 days on Natren probiotics,

the mucous was completely gone. Her story is only one of dozens I’ve

received from readers. I tell my readers they have to use Natren

probiotics in their healing regimen, otherwise their results will vary.

For myself, prior to taking Natren’s B. bifidum, the only thing that had

worked to stem my chronic diarrhea was L-Glutamine (on an empty stomach

only). However, within 3 doses of Natren’s bifidobacteria, my stools

began to firm up and excess water was reabsorbed. I tried Natren’s Mega

Dophilus (lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1) next but did not tolerate

that as well as the bifidus. In searching for reasons why, I came across

this bit of research that showed that in states of inflammation the

overall tolerance to bacterial flora is greatly reduced:

“It is possible that the products of the commensal flora promote

inflammation in the presence of an impaired mucosal barrier or injury to

the mucosa… These results indicate that, in health, there is tolerance

to autologous [your own] but not allogeneic [foreign source] intestinal

flora, and tolerance is lost during inflammation. Evidence also exists

that animals are tolerant to their own flora in health but not after

colitis develops.” (Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Etiology and

Pathogenesis by Claudio Fiocchi, Gastroenterology 1998, Vol.115, page

185)

Unfortunately, this bit of research doesn’t stipulate which species of

bacteria the body loses tolerance for, and which strains of which

species. Nevertheless, it provided me with a clue by which to proceed,

and as my own program of supplementation was successful, I then

recommended the same conservative course of action to my readers. I know

many people have experienced good results from more aggressive

supplementation and also from beginning supplementation immediately

(with inflammation and bleeding still present). However, I favor the

kinder, gentler approach to healthcare that’s likely to work for the

greatest number of people and not risk triggering adverse reactions.

Feedback from hundreds of readers since has confirmed the effectiveness

of this approach.

My recommendation is this: First, get your inflammation and ulceration,

bleeding, etc. healed. For more information on natural ways to

accomplish this, see either of my books, Listen To Your Gut, or The IBD

Remission Diet. However, I do recommend you try supplementing with

Natren’s Bifido Factor (B. bifidum Malyoth) right away because if you

can tolerate it, it will help speed your healing. Once you’ve

successfully used Natren’s bifidobacteria for a few weeks, next try

adding Mega Dophilus (L. acidophilus DDS-1), if you tolerate that well,

then finally add their Digesta Lac product (L. bulgaricus LB-51) to your

regimen. You ultimately need to ingest the complete spectrum of

probiotics as each is particularly active and healing for different

parts of your intestine: Acidophilus for the esophageal tube, stomach

and small intestine, bifidus for the large intestine, and bulgaricus is

a transient species that travels throughout the intestinal tract and

also assists the action of acidophilus and bifidus. If you suffer from

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) you can start immediately with all three

(acidophilus, bifidum, bulgaricus) in powder form. Whether you tend

toward diarrhea or constipation or some mixture of both, the Natren

probiotics will normalize your bowel function and you should see

positive results within a month or so.

I recommend people with IBD take the probiotics in powder form so that

(a) you can reap the benefits in your mouth (mouth ulcers), esophagus

and stomach (acidophilus reduces or eliminates heartburn – even while

pregnant) and (b) to ensure effective utilisation as people with IBD

often have very fast transit times through their gastrointestinal tract,

so capsules are not always broken down/absorbed properly.

For an infant with bowel problems, supplement with Natren’s Life Start

(B. infantis bacteria) only – do not give the other probiotic species

directly to an infant (although a nursing mother can and should ingest

other species including B. infantis).

If you’ve already tried probiotics with mixed results, I encourage you

to give them one more try. For full dosage instructions for both adults,

children and infants, see either of my books:

OR IBS?

Probiotic therapy benefits people with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease)

and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) in many ways. If you get too many

‘bad’ bacteria in your gut and not enough ‘good’ bacteria, the bad

bacteria (and other pathogenic microorganisms like yeast, fungi,

parasites, etc.) will degrade the mucosal lining of your intestine and

even penetrate through the intestinal wall. Aside from resulting in an

increase of mucous, inflammation, ulceration and bleeding, this will

also result in undigested particles of food passing directly into your

bloodstream – where they are perceived as allergens and trigger an

immune response. Repopulating your bacterial flora to contain

predominantly good bacteria (via probiotic supplementation), will result

in a drastic reduction – if not elimination – of many harmful pathogens

like yeast, fungus, mold, parasites, viruses and bad bacteria from your

gut environment. The good bacteria will also form a protective coating

of your mucosal cell lining and produce B vitamins and digestive

enzymes. As a result, proper digestion and absorption of nutrients will

gradually be restored. Top quality probiotic supplementation is an

integral part of healing the root cause of IBS or IBD and then

maintaining ongoing health. Symptoms that can be automatically resolved

as a result of this healing include: heartburn, gas, bloating,

constipation, diarrhea, excess mucous, intestinal spasms or cramping,

ulceration, inflammation, and bleeding.

There is MUCH more information about probiotics, how they work, how to

choose the best one for your body, and detailed dosage instructions for

both adults, children and infants, in either of my books:

Natural Antibiotics & Antimicrobials

Natural alternatives to pharmaceutical antibiotics are especially

important if you suffer dreadful side-effects from drug antibiotics or

if you’re concerned about growing antibiotic-resistance (superbugs).

If your doctor wants to put you on antibiotics for either a gut or

secondary infection. There are several natural alternatives you can

consider. These include: Garlic, Olive Leaf Extract, Grapefruit Seed

Extract and Wild Oregano Oil. All of these substances also have varying

levels of anti-viral, anti-yeast, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic

activity as well.

Of these, I feel Wild Oregano Oil is the most potent and powerful,

across the board, and is definitely the one I recommend you use. The

only drawback to Wild Oregano Oil is that it feels very ‘hot’ (like

chili pepper hot) for about 2-3 minutes after you take it orally,

therefore, it can be very difficult to use internally with children.

WILD OREGANO OIL

Wild Oregano Oil is relatively new in North America – it has only been

around for about ten years and there are still many naturopaths and

herbalists who are not fluent in its usage. This is changing rapidly

though, as news of it’s efficacy spreads! Because there isn’t much

information on Wild Oregano Oil, I have had to develop a treatment

protocol specifically for people with IBS and IBD (as one didn’t exist).

About 30 of my private consultation clients have been invaluable guinea

pigs with me on this, and together we have developed a very effective

protocol that eliminates yeast (Candida), fungus, parasites, and bad

bacteria (like C. difficile) – and replaces them with good bacteria.

The Wild Oregano Oil Protocol with all the usage and dosage instructions

is too lengthy to include here, so check out either of my books: LISTEN

TO YOUR IBS or LISTEN TO YOUR GUT for everything you need to know to

implement this very powerful, life-changing healing protocol. Here are

some key points about Wild Oregano Oil:

A therapeutic dose of Wild Oregano Oil (e.g. 5 drops, 5x/day) is

equivalent to Vancomycin (a potent drug antibiotic reserved to treat

‘superbugs’).

Wild Oregano Oil feels ‘spicy hot’ when you swallow it (or when it

touches any mucous membrane). However, I’ve developed a way of ingesting

it that’s so painless, even my kids can take it. You take a sip of

water, tilt your head back and shoot the Wild Oregano Oil into the back

of your throat where the water is, swallow and then immediately chug

lots more water.

If you cannot take the Wild Oregano Oil in liquid form, you can take it

in the equivalent dosage of gelcaps. However, take in liquid form if you

can, as it is most potent.

Wild Oregano Oil (Oreganum Vulgare) is also an anti-inflammatory in

addition to being an extremely potent antiviral, antibacterial,

antifungal, antiparasitic, etc.

Wild Oregano Oil is fantastic for treating mouth ulcers – you can clear

them in 1-2 days! Either gargle with it in a mouthful of water, or dab

on directly with your finger. Full-strength from the dropper bottle

(Note: this is not ESSENTIAL oil of oregano, it has already been diluted

a certain amount with olive oil by the manufacturer) works the fastest.

But you can also dilute it 7:1 (7 drops organic olive oil, 1 drop wild

oregano oil) and this works almost as well, but without any of the

“burning”.

You should also apply Wild Oregano Oil directly to any localized

infection on skin, nails, mouth etc. There are different dosage

instructions and different ways to dilute Wild Oregano Oil depending on

where you’re going to apply it. www.joyofthemountains.com has some good

usage guidelines for various ailments.

An added bonus is you probably won’t get any flus/colds whilst taking

it!

**IMPORTANT: Wild Oregano Oil is a very potent antibiotic and MUST

always be followed with high dose probiotics to replace the good

bacteria it has killed.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A BRAND OF WILD OREGANO OIL:

a) Oregano Oil is like probiotics, in that the species and strain are

very important to obtain the desired action/results. Make sure you get

the correct species (Oreganum Vulgare) and subspecies (Hirtum is a good

one).

b) It must be high in naturally-occurring Carvacrol, the species must

have naturally-occurring high levels of Carvacrol – not just extra

Carvacrol added in later. If you get a brand with the correct species

and subspecies, this will not be a problem.

c) Low in Thymol – a naturally occurring compound in Oregano Oil that

must be present as it works synergistically with Carvacrol. But, too

much is hard on the liver, so check that levels do not exceed 5%.

Currently, there are only two brands of Wild Oregano Oil that I know of

that meet all the specifications above: Joy of The Mountains and North

American Herb & Spice brands. You can also consult either of my books:

LISTEN TO YOUR IBS or LISTEN TO YOUR GUT for full dosage instructions

(how much, when and how) and usage instructions for Wild Oregano Oil

with severe or chronic gut infections.

WARNING: DO NOT use Wild Oregano Oil if you are using 3 or more

prescription drugs. It will not be safe for your liver. Wild Oregano Oil

is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, nor for children

under age 5. For children under age 12, you will need to reduce the

dosages here according to their age. Use Young’s Formula or consult your

doctor to calculate appropriate dosage. Always follow usage with

probiotics

——————————————————————

INSIDER TIP: Either of my books, “Listen To Your IBS” or “Listen To Your

Gut” contain in-depth information and expanded, detailed usage protocols

for Wild Oregano Oil.

Many people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease have used Wild Oregano Oil

instead of pharmaceutical antibiotics and/or anti-fungal and anti-yeast

medications. Are you aware of all the extremely effective natural

protocols you could be using to treat your illness rather than resorting

to damaging drugs and surgery? Wild Oregano Oil is just one of them. I

have been drug and surgery-free for over 16 years now, and you can be

too! You can start the Healing Journey today that thousands with IBD and

IBS have already trial-tested, and you can try it risk-free for a whole

year! That’s right, I’ll cheerfully refund your money, no questions

asked, it you don’t feel it’s worth the money

——————————————————————

“I was told I would need to take pills for the rest of my life and now I

take none!

The initial diet was quite strict however, I now have quite a regular,

normal diet and consume small portions of alcohol. Obviously this is a

fantastic situation from the prospect of being told I would need to take

pills for the rest of my life to where I take none. Many thanks for the

advice in your program.”

Many people diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease have already tried

prescription drugs and often surgery to combat their illness. In most

cases, the medical treatments only work to suppress the symptoms for a

while. But since they don’t heal the underlying causes of Crohn’s, it is

nearly impossible to effect a cure using medical methods. Indeed, you’d

be hard pressed to find a single gastroenterologist willing to use the

word “cure” and “Crohn’s” in the same sentence!

Crohn’s Disease is usually caused by one or several of the following

factors combining synergistically to produce disease. If you go back

over your own personal health history, I think you’ll find a mix of the

following damaging events, that together have degraded the health of

your gut and immune system:

    * Antibiotic Use – any antibiotic therapy that is not followed by

full-spectrum probiotic therapy causes lasting, pervasive damage to the

bacterial flora of your gastrointestinal tract (from mouth to anus),

which in turn leads to increased infestation of yeast, parasites,

viruses, bad bacteria and other pathogens. These pathogens degrade the

mucosal lining and damage the intestinal wall (symptoms include

bloating, gas, inflammation, bleeding, etc.) which leads to Leaky Gut

Syndrome, which then triggers allergic and auto-immune response. Certain

antibiotic drugs can cause ulcerative colitis all by themselves (like

Novo Clindamycin), and the pharmaceutical information that comes with

these products even explicitly warns of this. Yet medical doctors

continue to prescribe them and also don’t follow usage with probiotics.

    * Environmental and Food-borne Toxins – processed foods with

preservatives, monosodium glutamate (MSG), artificial sweeteners and

flavors, nitrites and other proven toxins and carcinogens, microwaved

foods, toxins contained in skin care products, shampoos, cosmetics,

furniture, carpets, and the air (to name a few sources) all cause

cellular and systemic damage.

    * Vaccination – childhood, adult, flu vaccines, etc. Causes direct

damage to bacterial flora of the gut and long-term, immune system

damage. Many scientists feel that vaccination is one of the key factors

behind the massive increase in auto-immune diseases. See my article,

“Should I Vaccinate My Child?” for details and scientific references.

    * Emotional Trauma or Abuse – don’t underestimate the damaging

effects of abusive or traumatic emotional experiences on the body, and

the gut in particular. For some of you, this may be damage from your

past that was never resolved/healed, and/or ongoing emotional patterns

or experiences that continue to degrade your health daily. Remember that

60% of your body’s neurotransmitters are in your gut, not your brain! An

excellent book on this topic is “When The Body Says No” by Gabor Mate,

MD.

    * Parasites & Pathogenic Microorganisms – if your gut ecology is

already weakened or imbalanced, travel to a foreign country or ingestion

of tainted food/water can be the ‘straw that breaks the camel’s back’.

If your bacterial flora is already imbalanced with a deficit of

beneficial bacteria, then it’s very easy for parasites, yeast, molds,

bad bacteria, or fungus to flourish. These pathogens then degrade the

health of your intestinal mucosal lining, which can result in

ulceration, inflammation, bleeding and subsequent damage to your

systemic health.

Each of these causative factors – including lesser factors like whether

or not you were breastfed, your mother’s health while you were in utero,

hereditary/genetic weaknesses, heavy metal levels in your body, mercury

amalgam fillings in your teeth, pesticide exposure, etc. – will

contribute in varying degrees and combinations to your particular

pathology. Different people are susceptible to different factors and

something that strongly affects your friend adversely, may only mildly

affect you adversely. There is seldom just one factor (pathogen) in

isolation that causes Crohn’s Disease. However, I believe each of us is

capable of identifying our own particular pathology, or the causative

factors, of our own ill health and then taking the steps that will be

particularly healing to each of us.

Once you’ve identified the underlying root causes of your Crohn’s, you

can seek out potent natural remedies to heal each of those causative

factors. If infection is one of the initial causes of your Crohn’s, then

your medical doctor will likely already have put you on antibiotics to

wipe out the bad bacteria that are infecting your colon. However, unless

this was followed by therapeutic-grade probiotics, then your colon is

likely infected again, plus overrun with yeast (Candida albicans), which

flourishes following antibiotic usage.

So in this case, you would need a potent natural antibiotic like wild

oregano oil, followed by high dose, therapeutic-grade probiotics and a

low-sugar diet to prevent relapse. The next step of healing would

involve targeted supplements to repair the damage done to your mucosal

lining and intestinal wall – like L-glutamine, aloe vera, N-acetyl

glucosamine, deglycyrrhizinated licorice, slippery elm, marshmallow

root, etc. You will then need herbs to restore your endocrine (hormonal)

function and detoxify and strengthen your liver. Adrenal support herbs

are also usually required by people healing from Crohn’s – especially if

they have been on immune suppressants like Prednisone.

Lastly, you need to keep in mind that natural healing is not quick.

Since it is healing the actual cause(s) of your Crohn’s (which no doubt

took a long time to build up in your body), this healing and balancing

will take some time. This is because you are not just healing your overt

symptoms, you are also restoring internal, systemic health. In addition,

your body will simultaneously be cleansing and detoxing from pathogens,

drug residues, and other toxins, and this also takes time.

But if you truly want to ‘cure’ your Crohn’s – not just suppress the

symptoms, or experience short-term remissions – then natural, holistic

healing is the pathway to success. Yes. it takes time. This is why I

call it a “Healing Journey”, but it is so very worth it.
